NFL Teams Tease Upcoming Rivalries Uniforms Ahead of 2025 Season

On Friday, several NFL teams shared teaser videos on social media, generating excitement for the highly anticipated release of their Rivalries uniforms. Teams including the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, and Arizona Cardinals took to the platform X, hinting at the unveiling of these special uniforms scheduled for August 28. The AFC East and NFC West divisions have been chosen to debut their Rivalries uniforms in 2025, with plans for additional divisions to join each year through 2028.
As part of the announcements, specific matchups designated as Rivalries games for the 2025 season were also revealed. The Buffalo Bills indicated that they would wear their Rivalries uniforms against the New England Patriots during Week 5. The Arizona Cardinals disclosed plans to don their Rivalries uniforms in Week 4 when they face the Seattle Seahawks, while the Los Angeles Rams announced that they will showcase their Rivalries uniforms during a home game against the Seahawks in Week 11. Each team from the AFC East and NFC West will don their respective uniforms once during the regular season, specifically during home games against divisional opponents.
The NFL initiated the Rivalries program in April, aiming to enhance the significance of rivalry games while fostering increased fan engagement. According to an official press release from the league, the Rivalries uniforms will feature designs that are deeply rooted in local community insights and will draw inspiration from the rich histories and unique characteristics of each team's market. As the unveiling date approaches, details regarding the specific designs of the uniforms remain sparse. However, recent social media posts hinted at potential themes: a winter motif for the Bills, a water-based theme for the Patriots, and a desert aesthetic for the Cardinals. Significantly, the release date of August 28 is precisely one week before the commencement of the 2025 NFL regular season, highlighted by the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles hosting the Dallas Cowboys on September 4.
