NFL Teams Tease Rivalries Uniforms Ahead of 2025 Season

On Friday, several NFL teams engaged fans on social media by posting teaser videos for the forthcoming launch of their Rivalries uniforms. Teams including the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, and Arizona Cardinals shared posts on X, hinting at the unveiling of these special uniforms set for August 28.
The AFC East and NFC West divisions have been selected for the initial debut of Rivalries uniforms, with further divisions scheduled to be introduced each year through 2028. On the same day, the league revealed several matchups designated as Rivalries games for the 2025 season. Notably, the Bills will wear their special uniforms in a showdown against the Patriots in Week 5, while the Cardinals will don theirs in Week 4 against the Seahawks. Additionally, the Rams announced they will sport their Rivalries attire during a home game against the Seahawks in Week 11. Each team from the AFC East and NFC West will showcase their Rivalries uniforms once during the 2025 regular season at home against a divisional opponent.
In April, the NFL introduced the Rivalries initiative aimed at enhancing the significance of rivalry games and fostering fan engagement. According to the official press release, the Rivalries uniforms will be designed with substantial input from local community insights, drawing inspiration from the historical and cultural elements unique to each team's city. With the official reveal just a month away, specifics regarding the uniform designs remain scarce. However, Friday's social media updates hinted at potential themes, including a winter motif for the Bills, a water-inspired look for the Patriots, and a desert aesthetic for the Cardinals. The release date of August 28 is strategically timed, occurring one week prior to the start of the 2025 NFL regular season, which will feature the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles facing the Dallas Cowboys on September 4.
