NFL Teams Unveil Rivalries Uniforms Ahead of 2025 Season

Several NFL teams utilized social media on Friday to tease the highly anticipated release of their Rivalries uniforms. Among the teams participating in this promotion were the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, and Arizona Cardinals. Each team took to X to hint at the unveiling of their special Rivalries threads, scheduled for August 28.
Select divisions were designated to debut these Rivalries uniforms, specifically the AFC East and NFC West, starting in 2025. The NFL plans to introduce two additional divisions each year through 2028, broadening the scope of this initiative. In conjunction with the uniform reveal, several matchups categorized as Rivalries games for the 2025 season were also disclosed. Notably, the Bills will showcase their Rivalries uniforms against the Patriots in Week 5, while the Cardinals will wear their uniforms in Week 4 against the Seahawks. Additionally, the Rams announced they will don their Rivalries apparel when they host the Seahawks in Week 11.
The NFL introduced the Rivalries initiative in April to enhance the significance of rivalry games while fostering greater fan engagement. According to the official press release, the Rivalries uniforms will be deeply rooted in local community insights and inspired by each team's history and their respective city's unique characteristics. As the launch date approaches, specific details regarding the appearances of the Rivalries uniforms remain largely undisclosed. However, recent posts have suggested thematic elements, including a winter motif for the Bills, a water theme for the Patriots, and a desert motif for the Cardinals. Coinciding with the August 28 release, the announcement occurs just one week prior to the kickoff of the 2025 NFL regular season, which opens with the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles hosting the Dallas Cowboys on September 4.
