New Orleans Saints Unveil Alternate Gold Jerseys for 2025 Season

Two weeks after the New Orleans Saints showcased their new alternate white helmets, the team has unveiled its alternate jerseys for the 2025 season. In a recent video posted on X, the Saints revealed their gold alternate uniforms, which will be utilized for select games throughout the regular season.
The origin of the gold jersey dates back to 2002, when the Saints first integrated it into their uniform rotation. The updated design closely resembles the shade of gold that corresponds with one of the helmets in their current lineup. A prominent supporter of the return of the gold jerseys is Saints legend Cameron Jordan, who has been advocating for the revival of this uniform since at least 2020. Notably, the Saints last wore the gold jersey during a December 2002 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
With the reintroduction of the gold jerseys, the Saints could possess as many as eight different uniform combinations for the upcoming season. Their primary jerseys include black for home games and white tops for road games, paired with gold and black or white and black pants. Additionally, the Saints have previously utilized multiple color rush jerseys, such as the gold on white combination, featuring one of their two helmets from last season. The current season presents an opportunity for the Saints to sport the gold jersey and white helmets during certain games. Following a revision to the NFL's uniform policy in April, teams are now allowed to wear their throwback or alternate jerseys up to four times during the season. However, the Saints have yet to announce the debut date for their new gold jersey, with their regular-season opener scheduled at home against the Arizona Cardinals on September 7.
