Cleveland Browns Unveil New Alternate Helmet for 2023 Season

The Cleveland Browns have recently introduced their new alternate helmet, showcasing it through a video announcement that highlighted the phrase, 'a new look up top, molded by hardened toughness.' This development has generated considerable excitement among fans, following the team's promotional build-up which included a hype video and collaboration with The Pat McAfee Show.
The alternate helmet, referred to as 'Alpha Dawg,' features a matte all-brown shell complemented by two orange stripes and an all-brown facemask. This marks a historic moment for the franchise as it is the first time the Browns will sport a brown helmet. The 'Alpha Dawg' helmet is set to be worn during three home games: September 21 against the Green Bay Packers, October 19 against the Miami Dolphins, and December 7 against the Tennessee Titans. In addition to this new alternate helmet, the Browns will continue to wear their white helmet as another alternate option, following the NFL's uniform policy expansion in 2022 that allows teams to have a third helmet, provided it is approved for a specific uniform.
As the Browns unveil this new headgear, attention turns to the team's quarterback situation. With Deshaun Watson currently sidelined due to injury, the quarterback battle is notably competitive, featuring Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders vying for the starting role. The Browns have recently raised eyebrows with their decision to select two rookie quarterbacks in the middle rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft, but they will need to outperform veteran Flacco to secure a starting position. After finishing last season with a record of 3-14, the new starting quarterback will face immediate pressure to help revitalize the team within the competitive AFC North division, beginning with their challenging opening match against the Cincinnati Bengals on September 7, featuring prominent players like Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase.
