Cleveland Browns Unveil New Alternate Helmet Alpha Dawg'

The Cleveland Browns have officially introduced their new alternate helmet, marking a significant moment in franchise history. The team revealed the helmet through a promotional video that highlighted its unique design, accompanied by the slogan, 'a new look up top, molded by hardened toughness.' This announcement follows a strategic buildup involving a hype video and collaboration with The Pat McAfee Show, generating excitement among fans.
The new helmet, named 'Alpha Dawg,' features a matte all-brown shell adorned with two orange stripes and an all-brown facemask. This design signifies the first occasion the Browns will wear a brown helmet in their history, complementing the team's existing white alternate helmet. The 'Alpha Dawg' helmet is set to be worn during three home games: September 21 against the Green Bay Packers, October 19 versus the Miami Dolphins, and in a December 7 matchup against the Tennessee Titans.
Compounding the anticipation, the unveiling coincided with the team's training camp opening. Notably, the Browns generated buzz with a large, circular object covered by a Browns tarp, strategically floating on a raft. As the team prepares for its upcoming season, a key point of intrigue remains who will be at the quarterback position when the 'Alpha Dawg' helmets make their debut. With Deshaun Watson currently sidelined due to injury, the competition now includes Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders. The Browns’ decision to select two rookies during the middle rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft has garnered attention, yet they will need to outpace veteran Flacco to secure the starting role. Following a challenging 3-14 season, the quarterback who emerges from this competition will face immediate pressure to improve the team's performance in the tough AFC North, commencing with an opening game against the Cincinnati Bengals, featuring star players Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase, on September 7.
