Joe Burrow Addresses Primetime Schedule Challenges for the Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has expressed his dissatisfaction with the team's upcoming schedule, which sees them heading to Baltimore to face the AFC North rival Ravens for a primetime matchup for the fourth consecutive season. During a voluntary workout session, Burrow remarked, 'Playing in Baltimore for the fourth straight primetime year isn't ideal.' He further indicated a desire for a change in venue, saying, 'Maybe we can get one of those in Cincinnati next year. Please.'
The Bengals have faced the Ravens multiple times in high-stakes games recently. Notably, on October 9, 2022, Cincinnati was narrowly defeated by Baltimore on Sunday Night Football, with a final score of 19-17. This trend continued in the 2023 season when the Bengals lost 34-20 to the Ravens in a game that resulted in Burrow suffering a season-ending wrist injury early in the contest. The previous encounter on November 7, 2024, also saw the Bengals fall to the Ravens, this time by a score of 35-34. Now, on Thanksgiving night, November 27, 2025, Cincinnati is set to return to Baltimore for another primetime showdown.
Historically, the Bengals have faced challenges in primetime games, especially as visitors in the AFC North. Analysis indicates that home teams have had a notable advantage in these matchups. Jake Liscow from Locked On Bengals provided insights into Cincinnati's primetime performances last season, which included only one home game that ended in a loss against the Washington Commanders. The Bengals managed to secure a victory against the New York Giants on the road but suffered defeats in critical games against the Ravens, Los Angeles Chargers, and narrowly defeated the Dallas Cowboys. As the current season progresses, Cincinnati is again confronted with a challenging schedule, featuring three road primetime games and just one home game, against the Pittsburgh Steelers on October 16. This disproportionate distribution of primetime matchups has led to speculation about the team's scheduling fortune. Nevertheless, the Bengals are focused on moving forward with the intention of returning to playoff contention after two seasons outside of the postseason picture.
