Dak Prescott Makes Progress in Recovery from Hamstring Injury

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has reported positive progress in his rehabilitation from a hamstring injury that cut his 2024 season short. Although he has not yet been cleared for contact, Prescott expressed confidence in his recovery, stating, "Pretty much can do it all. I feel good." He noted that being unable to participate in contact drills is manageable given the timeline for his recovery, emphasizing his participation in team activities.
Prescott's early end to the season in November has allowed him to focus on rehabilitation earlier than usual. He commented, "My offseason started way earlier so that's really essentially why I'm ahead." Working closely with the Cowboys' director of rehabilitation, Britt Brown, as well as the training staff and his personal trainer, Luke Wilson, has contributed to his progress. Prescott suffered a partial avulsion of his hamstring tendon during a Week 9 loss against the Atlanta Falcons, which required season-ending surgery.
During the 2024 season, Prescott recorded 1,978 passing yards along with 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions across eight games. This performance was considered disappointing, particularly in light of the four-year, $240 million contract he signed last offseason. However, with a focused offseason on rehabilitation, Prescott aims to lead the Cowboys to a more successful outcome after a challenging 7-12 finish in 2024.
