Dak Prescott Progressing in Hamstring Rehabilitation

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is making noteworthy progress in his rehabilitation following a hamstring injury that prematurely concluded his 2024 season. Despite not being cleared for contact, Prescott reported feeling positive about his recovery during team activities. According to Prescott, he is capable of participating in various activities, stating, 'Pretty much can do it all. Feel good.' He acknowledged that there is a duration before he will be cleared for contact but expressed that his early offseason has provided him with a head start in his recovery efforts.
Prescott’s injury, sustained during a Week 9 loss against the Atlanta Falcons, was a partial avulsion of the hamstring tendon, necessitating season-ending surgery. In the aftermath, Prescott finished the season with 1,978 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and eight interceptions across eight games. This performance fell short of expectations given the context of his significant four-year, $240 million contract signed last offseason. However, with the additional time afforded by the early conclusion of his season, Prescott has been able to focus on rehabilitation in collaboration with director of rehabilitation Britt Brown and his training staff, as well as his personal trainer Luke Wilson.
Looking ahead, Prescott is optimistic about leading the Cowboys to a stronger performance in the upcoming season, motivated by the team’s disappointing 7-12 record in 2024. His proactive approach during rehabilitation has fueled hopes that he will be ready to return to the field when the time comes, positioning him and the Cowboys for a potential bounce-back campaign.
