Joe Burrow Addresses Primetime Matchups Against Ravens

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow expressed his discontent regarding the team's scheduling as they prepare to face the Baltimore Ravens in a primetime game. This matchup marks the fourth consecutive season that the Bengals will play against their AFC North rivals under the bright lights. Following a voluntary workout on Tuesday, Burrow commented on the situation, indicating a desire for future games to be held in Cincinnati. 'Playing in Baltimore for the fourth straight prime-time year isn't ideal. Maybe we can get one of those in Cincinnati next year. Please,' Burrow remarked, as reported by Moneyline's Ben Baby.
Historically, the Bengals have faced challenges in their recent primetime encounters with the Ravens. On October 9, 2022, Cincinnati narrowly lost to Baltimore 19-17 during a Sunday Night Football game. More recently, on November 16, 2023, the Bengals faced a setback, losing 34-20, which resulted in Burrow sustaining a season-ending wrist injury early in the game. Following that, on November 7, 2024, Cincinnati experienced another close defeat, falling to the Ravens 35-34. As they prepare for another meeting on Thanksgiving night, November 27, 2025, the Bengals find themselves on a concerning trend against this rival team, especially in primetime scenarios that have historically favored the home side.
Analyzing the Bengals' overall primetime schedule, Moneyline's Jake Liscow highlighted the team's record during these heavily promoted evening games. In 2023, Cincinnati had just one home primetime appearance, which ended in a 38-33 loss against the Washington Commanders on September 23. Conversely, the Bengals played four primetime road games that season, marking a mixture of results: a victory against the New York Giants (17-7), losses to the Baltimore Ravens (35-34), Los Angeles Chargers (34-27), and a win over the Dallas Cowboys (27-20). The Bengals closed the year with two standalone games, achieving a notable overtime win against the Denver Broncos at home and a narrow triumph over the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road. The current year's schedule features three primetime road games, including matchups against the Miami Dolphins and the Ravens, alongside a lone primetime home game set against the Pittsburgh Steelers. As they navigate these challenging matchups, the Bengals remain focused on returning to the playoffs after a two-year absence.
