Cincinnati Bengals Prepare for Primetime Clash Against Ravens

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has expressed his discontent with the team's upcoming primetime matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, marking the fourth consecutive season in which the Bengals will travel to Baltimore for this highly anticipated rivalry. Following a voluntary workout, Burrow remarked that such an arrangement is not ideal and conveyed hope for a future opportunity to host the Ravens in Cincinnati. His sentiments were reported by Ben Baby of Moneyline.
In recent encounters, the Bengals have faced challenging outcomes in Baltimore. On October 9, 2022, Cincinnati narrowly lost to the Ravens 19-17 on Sunday Night Football. The following season, on November 16, 2023, the Bengals fell again, losing 34-20 while Burrow suffered a season-ending wrist injury early in the game. The rivalry continued on November 7, 2024, when the Bengals lost a tightly contested game 35-34. This trend of unfavorable results has raised concerns about the Bengals' performance in these primetime games away from home.
Analysis from Jake Liscow, affiliated with Locked On Bengals, reveals that the Bengals have often found themselves on the unfavorable side of primetime scheduling. In the past season, they had only one home primetime game, which resulted in a 38-33 loss to the Washington Commanders. Additionally, Cincinnati navigated four road primetime games during that season, including matches against the New York Giants, Ravens, Los Angeles Chargers, and Dallas Cowboys. This upcoming season continues the trend, with the Bengals scheduled for three road primetime games, including the clash with the Ravens and matchups against the Miami Dolphins, whereas their sole home primetime game will be against the Pittsburgh Steelers. As the Bengals work to return to playoff contention after a two-year absence, they remain hopeful for better outcomes in this fierce division rivalry.
