Bengals Prepare for Primetime Challenge Against Ravens Again

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has expressed his dissatisfaction with the team's recurring primetime matchups against the Baltimore Ravens, particularly as this marks the fourth consecutive season the two teams will face off in the evening spotlight. Following a voluntary workout on Tuesday, Burrow noted the repetitive scheduling, stating, "Playing in Baltimore for the fourth straight prime-time year isn't ideal. Maybe we can get one of those in Cincinnati next year. Please."
Historically, the results of these matchups have not favored the Bengals. In their previous encounters, Cincinnati faced a narrow 19-17 defeat on October 9, 2022, during a Sunday Night Football game. More recently, the Bengals encountered a setback on November 16, 2023, where they suffered a 34-20 loss in a game that saw Burrow leave early due to a season-ending wrist injury. In another close contest on November 7, 2024, the Bengals fell short again, losing 35-34, adding to the series of challenging primetime outings against AFC North rivals.
As the Bengals prepare for their upcoming Thanksgiving night clash on November 27, 2025, they find themselves grappling with a difficult scheduling trend that has leaned heavily in favor of home teams in recent seasons. Jake Liscow of Locked On Bengals highlighted the Bengals' struggle in primetime, pointing out that last season, the team had only one primetime home game, resulting in a 38-33 loss to the Washington Commanders on September 23. In contrast, they participated in four road contests, achieving a mixed record with victories against the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys but suffering losses against the Ravens and the Los Angeles Chargers. This year, the Bengals are slated for three road primetime games, including their showdown with the Ravens, as well as matchups against the Denver Broncos and the Miami Dolphins. With only one primetime home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers scheduled for October 16, it appears the Bengals have encountered a challenging situation regarding their primetime scheduling. Despite these hurdles, the Bengals remain determined to return to playoff contention after a two-year absence.
