Bengals Prepare for Primetime Clash Against Ravens in Baltimore

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has expressed reservations about the team's upcoming primetime matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, marking the fourth consecutive season the Bengals will play in this prestigious time slot against their AFC North rivals. Following a voluntary workout, Burrow commented on the situation, indicating a desire for a more favorable schedule in the future, stating, 'Playing in Baltimore for the fourth straight prime-time year isn't ideal. Maybe we can get one of those in Cincinnati next year. Please.'
Historically, the Bengals have struggled in these primetime encounters against the Ravens, losing 19-17 in a close game on Sunday Night Football on October 9, 2022, and suffering a significant setback on November 16, 2023, when Burrow sustained a season-ending wrist injury early on in a 34-20 loss. Moreover, in their most recent meeting on November 7, 2024, the Bengals narrowly fell to the Ravens by a score of 35-34. As they prepare to return to Baltimore on Thanksgiving night, November 27, 2025, the Bengals will seek to change their fortunes against a Ravens team that has favored the home ground in recent matchups.
The Bengals' history with primetime games has revealed a trend towards road games, with the 2023 season featuring one home contest along with multiple away games. Last year, Cincinnati played four primetime games on the road, including a notable win over the New York Giants and competitive losses against the Ravens and the Los Angeles Chargers. This season, the Bengals are again on the road for three primetime games, including matchups against the Ravens and the Miami Dolphins, while hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers for a lone home primetime game on October 16. Given the recurring theme of away games in critical late-season matchups, Cincinnati faces the challenge of overcoming a difficult scheduling scenario as they aim to rediscover their playoff form after two seasons away from postseason contention.
