The Texas Rangers have announced a special event that is anticipated to please fans of anime. Scheduled for July 1, during the game against the Baltimore Orioles, the Rangers will unveil their co-branded jerseys in celebration of Jujutsu Kaisen Night. Tickets for this event have already sold out, ensuring that those who secured their places will receive the exclusive jerseys upon their arrival at Globe Life Field.
In addition to Jujutsu Kaisen Night, the Rangers have planned a diverse array of Theme Nights for the remaining season. These themed events will include highlights such as AEW Wrestling Night, Hello Kitty Night, Barbie Night, Superman Day, among others. This initiative marks MLB's ongoing efforts to collaborate with popular culture, having previously established partnerships with prominent anime series.
Earlier this year, Major League Baseball revealed an official collaboration with Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Ufotable, which created a short video featuring notable players like Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Shota Imanaga of the Chicago Cubs. Furthermore, MLB has announced a partnership with director Hiroshi Shimizu for an anime project called Heroes of the Game, showcasing talents such as Shohei Ohtani, Paul Skenes, Aaron Judge, and Juan Soto. Amidst these developments, the Rangers currently hold third place in the AL West with a record of 27-30, having faced challenges recently with eight defeats in their last ten games, including a shutout loss to the Toronto Blue Jays. As they prepare to host the St. Louis Cardinals for a three-game series, the Rangers aim to regain their momentum.
