Jac Caglianone, a top-10 prospect in Major League Baseball, is reportedly set to make his debut with the Kansas City Royals. According to ESPN's Jeff Passan, the Royals are planning to promote Caglianone from Triple-A Omaha, generating excitement among fans and notable athletes alike, including Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Selected as the No. 6 pick in the 2024 draft, Caglianone is currently ranked as the No. 10 overall prospect by MLB Pipeline. His performance has been impressive; after being promoted to Triple-A on May 19, he posted a .319 batting average, including a remarkable run where he hit six home runs in just eight games. Prior to his ascent to Triple-A, he excelled in Double-A Northwest Arkansas, where he recorded a .322/.394/.553 slash line over 38 games.

Having originally played as a pitcher and first baseman during his college career at Florida, Caglianone made his first professional outing in the outfield during an April Double-A game. Since then, he has received guidance from former Royals outfield coach Rusty Kuntz, who notably assisted Alex Gordon in his transition from third base to the outfield. The potential move to the majors comes at a time when the Royals' outfielders are collectively struggling, with a combined batting average of .230 over 59 games. Royals general manager J.J. Picollo emphasized the organization's aim to focus on Caglianone's development, demonstrating caution in initiating his MLB journey amid a faltering offense. If called up, Caglianone's power hitting could prove beneficial for the Royals as they strive to improve their standing in the AL Central.
