The NFL announced the details of Sanders wearing the No. 12 jersey on their social media channels, marking a significant moment for the rookie. While Sanders wore No. 2 during his college football career at Colorado, his former teammate and Heisman Trophy winner, Travis Hunter, donned the No. 12 jersey. Hunter has since transitioned to the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he will continue to wear the familiar digits.

During an interview shared by the Browns, Andrew Siciliano highlighted the significance of Sanders' No. 12, noting its contrast with the number worn by his father, Deion Sanders, during his illustrious career with the Dallas Cowboys. Sanders acknowledged the connection, adding a light-hearted remark, 'You get the hint. You get the hint,' in reference to this legacy.
