Shedeur Sanders Makes Debut in Browns Uniform at NFLPA Rookie Premiere

Shedeur Sanders showcased his Cleveland Browns uniform for the first time during the NFLPA Rookie Premiere, generating excitement among fans and analysts alike. The NFL shared an image of Sanders donning his No. 12 jersey on social media, marking a significant milestone in his transition to professional football. The Rookie Premiere, which featured 42 rookies from the 2025 NFL Draft, took place from May 14 to May 17 in Los Angeles.
During his college career, Sanders wore No. 2, while his former Colorado teammate and Heisman Trophy winner, Travis Hunter, donned No. 12. Hunter is set to carry the same number with the Jacksonville Jaguars. In an interview shared by the Browns, Andrew Siciliano noted the significance of Sanders' choice of number, highlighting that it stands in contrast to the number worn by his father, Deion Sanders, during his time with the Dallas Cowboys. This connection prompted laughter from Sanders, who acknowledged the implication with a lighthearted comment.
At the Rookie Premiere, Sanders not only reunited with Hunter but also joined fellow top draft picks, including Cam Ward, Abdul Carter, Jaxson Dart, and Ashton Jeanty. The NFLPA emphasized that the event provides an introduction to the commercial aspects of professional football, thus paving the way for future endorsement opportunities and financial empowerment for the young athletes. Sanders, selected by the Browns in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, had a surprising fall from first-round projections but has since completed rookie minicamp alongside third-round pick Dillon Gabriel. Both players are preparing to compete with veteran quarterbacks Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett for playing time, a competition set to intensify with the commencement of OTA offseason workouts on May 27.
