Charlotte Hornets Clinch Victory at 2025 Vegas Summer League

The Charlotte Hornets have emerged as the champions of the 2025 Vegas Summer League, defeating the Sacramento Kings with a final score of 83-78. This championship match took place on Sunday night, with Hornets' player Kon Knueppel being named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) after showcasing a remarkable performance with 21 points and five rebounds.
In addition to Knueppel's standout performance, Ryan Kalkbrenner contributed significantly to Charlotte's victory, adding 15 points and nine rebounds. For Sacramento, Isaac Jones was the standout scorer, registering 24 points alongside 11 rebounds, while Devin Carter provided key support with 13 points and seven assists. Notably, Jones had previously delivered an impressive 36-point performance in Sacramento's semifinal victory over the Toronto Raptors but could not replicate that success on Sunday.
Throughout the game, the Hornets maintained control, leading by as many as 11 points heading into the fourth quarter. Although the Kings attempted to stage a comeback and cut the deficit to three points with under five minutes to play, they struggled to close the gap. In the final minute of play, both Knueppel and Jones exchanged significant three-point shots, yet Sacramento was unable to fully capitalize on their opportunities. Consequently, the Hornets secured the Vegas Summer League championship.
