Oklahoma City Thunder Realty Lures Interest with Unique Property Listing

In a creative strategy to attract potential buyers, the Oklahoma City Thunder's real estate division has listed a townhome previously owned by star player Kevin Durant at an enticing price of $35. This price, emblematic of Durant's jersey number during his tenure with the Thunder, serves as a marketing gimmick to capture attention, although genuine offers reflecting the home's actual value have begun to surface.
The townhome, which Durant personally designed, has been put up for sale by the subsequent owners after they purchased it from him. According to a report by Austin Breasette of 8NewsNow.com, Leasha Larkpor, managing broker for Thunder Team Realty, indicated that designers who worked on the property have revisited it, nostalgically recalling their contributions to its aesthetic. Larkpor expressed hope that a buyer will connect with the property, leading to productive discussions about purchasing offers.
The estimated market value of the home is around $1 million. Durant was selected by the then-Seattle SuperSonics as the second overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft and played his rookie season with the franchise before it relocated to Oklahoma City in 2008. During his time with the Thunder, which lasted until the end of the 2015-16 season, Durant earned the NBA Most Valuable Player Award in 2014 and earned selections to the All-Star Game on seven separate occasions, culminating in an NBA Finals appearance in 2012.
