Charlotte Hornets Capture 2025 Vegas Summer League Title

The Charlotte Hornets have emerged as the champions of the 2025 Vegas Summer League, clinching the title with a narrow 83-78 victory over the Sacramento Kings in the championship game held on Sunday night. Kon Knueppel played a pivotal role in the win, earning MVP honors after contributing 21 points and five rebounds in the decisive matchup.
Ryan Kalkbrenner also made significant contributions for Charlotte, adding 15 points and nine rebounds to the team's success. On the opposing side, Sacramento's Isaac Jones showcased his scoring prowess, recording an impressive 24 points along with 11 rebounds. Devin Carter further supported the Kings with 13 points and seven assists. Notably, Jones had previously put on a remarkable display in Sacramento's semifinal triumph over the Toronto Raptors, where he scored 36 points, though he was unable to replicate that performance in the championship.
Despite struggles on the offensive end, particularly with shooting percentages of 36.5 percent from the field and 20.6 percent from beyond the arc, the Kings made a late-game push, cutting the Hornets' lead to three points with under five minutes left. However, key three-point shots from Knueppel and Jones in the final moments kept the Hornets ahead, allowing Charlotte to secure the Summer League title.
