Charlotte Hornets Claim 2025 Vegas Summer League Championship

The Charlotte Hornets have emerged as the champions of the 2025 Vegas Summer League after defeating the Sacramento Kings 83-78 in the championship game. Kon Knueppel was a standout performer, securing MVP honors with a notable contribution of 21 points and five rebounds during the title match.
Joining Knueppel in the spotlight was Ryan Kalkbrenner, who added 15 points and nine rebounds for the Hornets. On the opposing side, Sacramento’s Isaac Jones delivered an impressive performance, registering 24 points along with 11 rebounds. Devin Carter also played a significant role for the Kings, contributing 13 points and seven assists. Jones had already showcased his skills in the semifinal against the Toronto Raptors, where he scored 36 points, but he was unable to replicate that success in the final.
The Kings struggled offensively in the championship game, managing to shoot just 36.5 percent from the field (31-of-85) and only 20.6 percent from beyond the arc (7-of-34). The Hornets, meanwhile, were able to maintain control for much of the contest and headed into the fourth quarter with an 11-point lead. As the final minutes approached, the Kings rallied to close the gap to three points, but key three-pointers from Knueppel and Jones in the game's final moments solidified the Hornets' victory and their claim to the Vegas Summer League title.
