Texas Rangers Celebrate Jujutsu Kaisen Night with Special Edition Jerseys

On Thursday, the Texas Rangers unveiled special-edition jerseys in a celebration aimed at anime fans, particularly featuring the popular series Jujutsu Kaisen. Scheduled for July 1, this unique event will take place during the Rangers' game against the Baltimore Orioles at Globe Life Field.
The Jujutsu Kaisen Night has already sold out, and fans who purchased tickets will be greeted with the co-branded jersey upon their arrival. In addition to this collaboration, the Rangers have an array of Theme Nights planned for the remainder of the season, including AEW Wrestling Night, Hello Kitty Night, Barbie Night, and Superman Day, showcasing the team’s commitment to engaging with diverse fandoms.
This initiative is not the first instance of the MLB leveraging anime culture; earlier this year, the league announced a collaboration with the series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, producing a short video featuring notable players such as Los Angeles Dodgers slugger Shohei Ohtani and Chicago Cubs pitcher Shota Imanaga. Moreover, the MLB has established a partnership with director Hiroshi Shimizu to create an anime project titled Heroes of the Game, which narrates an animated journey involving stars such as Shohei Ohtani, Paul Skenes, Aaron Judge, and Juan Soto. Currently, the Rangers are positioned third in the American League West with a record of 27-30, having faced challenges recently, losing eight of their last ten games, including a 2-0 shutout against the Toronto Blue Jays. The team will aim to reverse their fortunes as they host the St. Louis Cardinals, currently at 32-34, in the opening game of a three-game series on Friday.
