Pittsburgh Pirates Honor Mac Miller with Special Bobblehead Night

The Pittsburgh Pirates held a special event at PNC Park, celebrating the life and legacy of the late rapper Mac Miller during a bobblehead night that attracted the largest home crowd of the season. In an effort to honor the hometown hero, fans filled the stadium to receive a commemorative bobblehead, resulting in an attendance figure of 38,041 against the Chicago White Sox.
The first 20,000 fans in attendance were given the exclusive Mac Miller bobblehead, which was designed in collaboration with Miller's family. The bobblehead features the artist and plays his popular song 'Knock Knock,' serving as a fitting tribute to his connection with the city and the local baseball team. Enthusiastic fans began queuing early in the morning, with reports indicating that some individuals arrived as early as 8 a.m. for the 6:40 p.m. game, enduring wait times of up to four hours.
In a further display of remembrance, Miller's mother, Karen Meyers, participated in the festivities by throwing out the ceremonial first pitch before the game. Tragically, Mac Miller passed away in 2018 at the age of 26, and in addition to the bobblehead giveaway, the Pirates created a dedicated fan message wall where attendees could write notes in memory of and in celebration of Miller's enduring impact.
