Pirates Honor Mac Miller with Special Bobblehead Night

The Pittsburgh Pirates celebrated their connection to the late rapper Mac Miller during a memorable bobblehead night at PNC Park. The event attracted the largest home crowd of the season, with attendance reaching 38,041 for the game against the Chicago White Sox. This special occasion allowed fans to pay tribute to both Miller and their local baseball team.
The first 20,000 fans in attendance received a bobblehead that commemorated Miller's legacy. Enthusiastic supporters began lining up as early as 8 a.m. for the 6:40 p.m. matchup, highlighting the excitement surrounding the event. According to reports, some fans experienced wait times of up to four hours to secure their collectible. The bobblehead was designed in collaboration with Miller’s family and is equipped to play his song 'Knock Knock,' adding a unique touch to the keepsake.
In addition to the bobblehead distribution, the event featured a ceremonial first pitch thrown by Miller's mother, Karen Meyers. In remembrance of the rapper, who passed away in 2018 at the age of 26, the Pirates also set up a fan message wall, encouraging attendees to leave heartfelt notes in memory of and in celebration of Miller's life.
