Pittsburgh Pirates Celebrate Mac Miller with Special Bobblehead Night

The Pittsburgh Pirates hosted a memorable event on Saturday night as they celebrated the legacy of the late rapper Mac Miller during a special bobblehead night at PNC Park. This occasion drew the largest home crowd of the season, with official attendance reported at 38,041 as fans gathered to honor both the artist and his hometown baseball team.
The first 20,000 attendees received a unique Mac Miller bobblehead, designed in collaboration with Miller's family. Fans demonstrated their enthusiasm by lining up as early as 8 a.m. for the game, which was scheduled to begin at 6:40 p.m. Reports indicated that some fans endured wait times of up to four hours to secure their collectible. The bobblehead not only features Miller's likeness but is also programmed to play his song 'Knock Knock,' adding a special touch to the memorabilia.
In a further tribute to Mac Miller, his mother, Karen Meyers, had the honor of throwing out the ceremonial first pitch before the game commenced. Additional tributes included a fan message wall, where attendees could leave notes in memory of Miller, celebrating his life and connection to Pittsburgh. Since his passing in 2018 at the young age of 26, the Pirates have continued to recognize Miller’s impact on the community and the city’s cultural landscape.
