Scottie Schefflers Affection for the Dallas Cowboys: A Trade-off Between Majors and Super Bowl Dreams

World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler expressed a willingness to trade a major championship victory for the chance to see the Dallas Cowboys secure another Super Bowl title. During an appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast, Scheffler remarked, 'I would trade one [major] for sure for a [Cowboys] Super Bowl.'
Born in Ridgewood, New Jersey, and raised in Dallas, Scheffler has achieved significant success in his golfing career, boasting four major titles, including his recent victory at the 2025 Open Championship. At the age of 29, he is on the verge of becoming only the seventh player to attain a career Grand Slam, a feat that requires a win at the U.S. Open. Despite his personal achievements on the golf course, Scheffler's heart seems to lean towards his hometown football team, the Cowboys.
The Cowboys, with five Super Bowl victories to their name, last claimed the championship title a mere five months before Scheffler's birth. Since then, the franchise has faced challenges in achieving playoff success, failing to progress beyond the divisional round in each of their 13 postseason appearances following their last Super Bowl win. As the 2025 NFL season approaches, the Cowboys are again filled with playoff aspirations under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer. Health issues have plagued essential players like Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Micah Parsons, and Trevon Diggs, who collectively missed 21 games in the previous season. With hopes of reaching the postseason for the fourth time in five years, Scheffler's allegiance to the Cowboys remains steadfast, as he continues to support his local team.
