Scottie Scheffler Would Trade Major for Cowboys Super Bowl

World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler recently expressed a willingness to exchange a major title for a Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl victory. During an appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast, Scheffler stated, 'I would trade one [major] for sure for a [Cowboys] Super Bowl.'
Although Scheffler was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey, he was raised in Dallas. The 29-year-old golfer has secured four major titles, the most recent being the 2025 Open Championship. In pursuit of becoming the seventh player to achieve a career Grand Slam, he now aims for victory in the U.S. Open. Scheffler's desire to see the Cowboys win another Super Bowl is notable since the team has not claimed a championship since the early 1990s, specifically five months before Scheffler was born.
The Cowboys, boasting five Super Bowl victories, have struggled to make significant playoff advancements in the years following. Since their last Super Bowl win, the team has failed to progress past the divisional round in each of their 13 postseason appearances. As the 2025 season approaches, the Cowboys are once again aiming for playoff success under the guidance of new head coach Brian Schottenheimer. Key players such as Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Micah Parsons, and Trevon Diggs missed a combined total of 21 games in 2024 due to injury, and the Cowboys will be looking for improved health as they aim to return to the postseason for the fourth time in five years. Throughout this journey, Scheffler remains committed to the success of his hometown team.
