Scottie Scheffler Would Trade a Major Championship for a Cowboys Super Bowl Win

World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler recently expressed his willingness to trade one of his major championships for a Super Bowl victory by the Dallas Cowboys. During an appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast, Scheffler stated, 'I would trade one [major] for sure for a [Cowboys] Super Bowl.'
While Scheffler was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey, he was raised in Dallas and has grown to be an ardent supporter of the Cowboys. Currently holding four major titles, including his recent win at the 2025 Open Championship, the 29-year-old golfer is on the verge of achieving a career Grand Slam, needing only a U.S. Open victory to complete the feat. Nevertheless, his fondness for the Cowboys remains evident as he shows a willingness to sacrifice his golfing accolades for a Super Bowl win for his hometown team.
The Cowboys have historically won five Super Bowls, but their most recent championship win occurred approximately five months before Scheffler's birth. Since that time, the Cowboys have faced challenges in the postseason, failing to advance past the divisional round in each of their 13 playoff appearances following their last Super Bowl. Heading into the 2025 season, the Cowboys are once again aiming for playoff success under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer. With high hopes for improved health for star players such as Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Micah Parsons, and Trevon Diggs, who collectively missed 21 games during the previous season, Dallas seeks to secure a postseason berth for the fourth time in five years. As this unfolds, Scheffler's interest in the accomplishments of his local team remains strong.
