Nikola Jokić Dominates Latvia with a Stunning Performance in EuroBasket

Jokić Shines in Serbia's EuroBasket Victory
Nikola Jokić took a break from his offseason passion for horse racing to deliver an explosive performance against Latvia on Sunday, leading Serbia to an impressive 84-80 victory in their EuroBasket matchup. The Denver Nuggets' star big man was an unstoppable force, finishing the game with 39 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
In this thrilling contest, Jokić showcased his skills by outclassing fellow NBA center Kristaps Porziņģis, who managed to score 14 points, grab six rebounds, and block three shots for Latvia. Dāvis Bertāns contributed significantly for the Latvian side with 16 points and 10 rebounds, but it was Jokić's night.
Serbia needed every ounce of Jokić's talent as Latvia mounted a late surge in the fourth quarter, tightening the score. While Jokić's contributions were monumental, he didn't receive much support from his teammates, with former Gonzaga forward Filip Petrušev scoring 12 points as the second-highest scorer for Serbia.
This masterclass performance by Jokić further solidifies his reputation in international basketball, leaving fans and analysts in awe. Serbia now boasts a perfect 3-0 record in Group A and stands atop the leaderboard, but they face stiff competition from Turkey, who remain undefeated at 2-0. Looking ahead, Serbia will still face challenges from the Czech Republic and Turkey in upcoming matches.
On the flip side, Latvia has fallen to 1-2 in the tournament and must secure victories against Portugal and the Czech Republic to have any hope of progressing.
Germany also stands out in the tournament with a 3-0 record, powered by the talents of Dennis Schröder, Franz Wagner, and Daniel Theis.
