Jaylen Brown Dunks Over Principal in Fun High School Reunion

Jaylen Brown's High School Comeback
Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown recently took a nostalgic trip back to Wheeler High School, where he first made a name for himself in basketball. In a lighthearted one-on-one matchup with the school's principal, Brown showcased his skills and athleticism, highlighting the journey from high school standout to 2024 NBA Finals MVP.
The match began with Brown struggling slightly, as he got the ball stripped during his first possession. However, he quickly bounced back, driving down the lane and delivering an impressive one-handed dunk over the principal, much to the delight of onlookers.
From High School to NBA Stardom
Before joining the Celtics and embarking on a successful NBA career, Brown was a dominant force at Wheeler High School, where he led the Wildcats to a remarkable 30-2 record and secured a 6A state title in his senior year. Averaging 28.0 points and 12.0 rebounds per game in 2015, Brown's performances earned him recognition as the No. 4 prospect in the country, according to 247Sports' composite rankings.
Throughout the offseason, the four-time All-Star has been reconnecting with his roots by visiting former schools, including his middle school, Lilburn Middle School, where he spoke to students, inspiring the next generation.
Despite not clinching a second consecutive championship with the Celtics in the 2024-25 season, Brown continued to shine on the court. He averaged 22.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and a career-high 4.5 assists per game, showcasing his all-around game with shooting percentages of 46.3% from the field and 32.4% from beyond the arc. Following the season, he underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee after battling a partially torn right meniscus, but based on his athletic performance during the Wheeler visit, he appears ready for the upcoming training camp.
