NFL Rookies Step into the Spotlight as Training Camp Approaches

Several incoming NFL rookies, including Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders and Jacksonville Jaguars standout Travis Hunter, were photographed donning their respective team uniforms on Saturday. Sanders, along with fellow Browns first-year quarterback Dillon Gabriel, showcased their Cleveland attire, while Hunter was seen in his full Jaguars uniform. Other notable rookies such as Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward and New York Giants signal-caller Jaxson Dart were also present during the event.
Shedeur Sanders was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, with the 144th overall pick. There were expectations that he might be selected earlier, as he was projected to go 20th overall in the final mock draft from Moneyline's NFL Scouting Department. Sanders concluded an impressive senior season at the University of Colorado, where he completed 74 percent of his passes for 4,134 yards, throwing 37 touchdowns against 10 interceptions. He is anticipated to compete for the starting quarterback position for Week 1 alongside Gabriel, Kenny Pickett, and Joe Flacco.
Meanwhile, Travis Hunter made headlines during his time with the Buffaloes, earning 2024 Heisman Trophy honors while excelling at both cornerback and wide receiver. The Jaguars traded up to secure him as the second overall pick in the draft. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler previously reported that Jacksonville plans to utilize Hunter primarily on offense while incorporating him in a secondary role on defense throughout his rookie season. The combination of Hunter with 2024 breakout rookie wideout Brian Thomas Jr. is expected to enhance Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars' passing game as the team aims to rebound from last season's 4-13 finish. As Sanders and Hunter prepare for their inaugural NFL training camp experiences, their uniform presentations occurred as part of the NFLPA Rookie Premiere.
