NFL Rookies Embrace Team Uniforms Ahead of Training Camp

Several incoming NFL rookies, including Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders and Jacksonville Jaguars standout Travis Hunter, were photographed in their respective team uniforms on Saturday. Both Sanders and fellow first-year Browns passer Dillon Gabriel represented Cleveland, while Hunter was seen in his full Jaguars attire. Other notable rookies, such as Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward and New York Giants signal-caller Jaxson Dart, were also present during the event.
Shedeur Sanders was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, being chosen at No. 144 overall. Heading into the draft, there was speculation that he could be picked on Day 1, as some projections had him going as high as the No. 20 overall pick according to the final mock draft by Moneyline's NFL Scouting Department. Sanders concluded an impressive senior season at Colorado, where he completed 74 percent of his passes for 4,134 yards with 37 touchdowns against 10 interceptions. In Cleveland, he is anticipated to compete for the Week 1 starting quarterback position against Dillon Gabriel, Kenny Pickett, and Joe Flacco.
On the other hand, Travis Hunter, who excelled alongside Sanders at Colorado, earned 2024 Heisman Trophy honors while thriving as both a cornerback and wide receiver. The Jaguars traded up to secure him with the second overall pick in the draft. According to reports from ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Jacksonville intends to utilize Hunter primarily on offense while still incorporating him on defense during his rookie season. His pairing with 2024 breakout rookie wideout Brian Thomas Jr. is expected to significantly enhance Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars' passing game as the team aims to rebound from a disappointing 4-13 finish last season. As Sanders and Hunter prepare for their initial NFL training camp experiences, their display in team uniforms was part of the NFLPA Rookie Premiere.
