The Houston Texans introduced their new 'Battle Red' uniforms during their Week 10 matchup against the Detroit Lions. This debut showcased red jerseys and pants, accompanied by distinctive helmets that are among the most unique seen this season.
A standout feature of the Texans' new uniforms is the 'Bold Bull' logo, which differs from the commonly seen logo on the team's jerseys. According to the Texans' official website, the Battle Red uniform includes a bullhorn shape that emerges from the shoulder stripe, aligning with the design of the newly introduced Battle Red helmet. The Texans emphasized their aim for boldness, highlighting the candy red paint on the helmet while ensuring a connection to their traditional bullhead logo.
These new uniforms are part of a comprehensive rebranding effort undertaken by the Texans ahead of the 2024 season, marking the franchise's first uniform overhaul since 2002. As part of the redesign process, the organization gathered insights through over 10,000 surveys and 30 focus groups, leading to the unveiling of several new uniform options. Texans' CEO Cal McNair expressed pride in the release, stating that the designs were crafted with the fans in mind. Following the uniform debut, the Texans aimed to bounce back against the top team in the NFC after a disappointing loss to the New York Jets.
