Courtland Sutton Secures Four-Year Contract Extension with Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos have reached an agreement with wide receiver Courtland Sutton on a four-year contract extension valued at $92 million, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Sutton, 29, has spent his entire seven-year career with the Broncos, having been selected in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft after an impressive collegiate career at Southern Methodist University (SMU).
Over the past two seasons, Sutton has demonstrated significant improvement in his performance. In 2023, he recorded a career-high ten touchdowns along with 59 receptions for a total of 772 yards. The following year, Sutton achieved personal bests in both receptions, with 81, and receiving yards, amassing 1,081 yards, complemented by eight additional touchdowns. His standout performance was a crucial factor in forming a productive partnership with rookie quarterback Bo Nix, which helped guide the Broncos to the league's tenth-best scoring offense. Sutton led the team in all major receiving categories, including receptions, receiving yards, yards from scrimmage, and touchdowns.
As the 2025 offseason commenced, Sutton had only one year remaining on the four-year, $60 million extension he signed in 2021. His contributions were instrumental in the Broncos reaching the playoffs for the first time in nine years. In an April 12 article, Sutton expressed optimism regarding contract extension discussions, stating that talks were "working in the right direction." Despite entering training camp without a new deal in July, Sutton reported to the team, indicating his commitment. Recognizing his exceptional performance, the Broncos prioritized bringing Sutton back as they aim to further improve during Nix's second year at the helm.
