Courtland Sutton Agrees to Four-Year Contract Extension with Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos have reached an agreement with wide receiver Courtland Sutton on a four-year contract extension valued at $92 million, as reported by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Sutton, now 29 years old, has spent his entire seven-year career with the Broncos after being selected in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
In recent seasons, Sutton has demonstrated significant improvement on the field. In the 2023 season, he recorded a career-high 10 touchdown receptions, alongside 59 catches for a total of 772 receiving yards. The following year, he further elevated his performance, logging career-best numbers in both receptions (81) and receiving yards (1,081), while adding eight more touchdowns. His notable contributions were pivotal as he cultivated a strong connection with rookie quarterback Bo Nix, playing a crucial role in propelling the team to the league's No. 10 scoring offense.
By the time the offseason of 2025 arrived, Sutton had just one year remaining on the original four-year, $60 million extension he signed in 2021. His impactful performances helped lead the Broncos to their first playoff appearance in nine years, significantly influencing the team's success. In an interview with Parker Gabriel of the Denver Post on April 12, Sutton expressed optimism regarding contract negotiations, stating that discussions were progressing positively. Although he entered training camp in July without a new deal, Sutton remained committed to the team, which was eager to retain its star offensive player as the Broncos aimed for improvement in the second year of the Nix era.
