Bengals Quarterback Joe Burrow Addresses Primetime Challenges

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow recently expressed his dissatisfaction with the team's schedule as they prepare to face their AFC North rivals, the Baltimore Ravens, in a primetime matchup for the fourth consecutive season. Following a voluntary workout, Burrow remarked, 'Playing in Baltimore for the fourth straight prime-time year isn't ideal.' He added a hopeful note by stating, 'Maybe we can get one of those in Cincinnati next year. Please.'
The Bengals have faced the Ravens multiple times in recent primetime games, experiencing a mix of outcomes. On October 9, 2022, Cincinnati suffered a narrow defeat against Baltimore on Sunday Night Football, with a final score of 19-17. In a more recent encounter on November 16, 2023, the Bengals again fell short, losing 34-20, a contest that saw Burrow exit early due to a season-ending wrist injury. The rivalry continued with another close game on November 7, 2024, where the Bengals lost 35-34. Now, the Bengals are set to return to Baltimore on November 27, 2025, coinciding with Thanksgiving night.
Historically, the Bengals have often found themselves on the road during primetime matchups in the AFC North, where the home teams have notably had the upper hand. Jake Liscow from Locked On Bengals noted that last season, Cincinnati managed only one primetime home game, which resulted in a 38-33 loss to the Washington Commanders. Additionally, they played four road games in primetime, including a win against the New York Giants and losses to both the Baltimore Ravens and the Los Angeles Chargers. As the season progresses, the Bengals now face three road primetime games this year, alongside a home game scheduled against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite the challenging schedule, Cincinnati remains focused on revitalizing their playoff aspirations after facing two seasons outside the postseason picture.
