Von Millers Future with the Denver Broncos in Question

Veteran linebacker Von Miller has expressed his intention to play in the upcoming NFL season, although it is increasingly likely that he will not do so with the Denver Broncos. During a recent press conference, Miller stated, "I haven't heard anything [from the Broncos]." This statement reflects the prevailing sentiment that a reunion with the franchise, where he spent parts of 11 seasons, might be unattainable at this stage of his career.
Miller noted that the current composition of the Broncos' roster raises questions about his potential fit with the team. "If you look at it, this year, it really doesn’t make sense. They've got two really, really good rushers that are the best in the league," he remarked, referring to Broncos' edge rushers Jonathon Cooper and Nik Bonitto. Both players have demonstrated impressive performance metrics, with Cooper accumulating 10.5 sacks last season and Bonitto leading the team with 13.5 sacks. Overall, the Broncos had a strong defensive showing, recording a total of 63 sacks, the highest in the league in 2024.
At 36 years old, Miller is acutely aware of his own physical limitations and preferences for his role on the field. He clarified, "I'm not playing special teams. That decision kinda makes itself at 36 years old. I can say I probably won't be doing that." He indicated that while a contract with the Broncos is unlikely this year, he remains open to possibilities for the future, stating, "So this year, probably not [signing with Denver], but the year after that, we'll see what happens." As training camp approaches, the experienced eight-time Pro Bowler and two-time champion might still attract interest from contending teams looking for a seasoned veteran to bolster their roster.
