Tre'Davious White has been traded from the Los Angeles Rams to the Baltimore Ravens, following weeks of discussions regarding potential trade options. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported on the deal, which involves the Rams sending the former All-Pro cornerback to Baltimore along with a 2027 seventh-round pick. In exchange, the Rams received a seventh-round pick for 2026. White's arrival in Baltimore comes after the Ravens initially aimed to acquire cornerback Marshon Lattimore from the New Orleans Saints; however, Lattimore was traded to the Washington Commanders.
According to ESPN's Sarah Barshop, the Rams had indicated their openness to trading White but were also willing to retain him in the event of injuries to other cornerbacks. Head coach Sean McVay confirmed that White received permission to explore trade opportunities. White had signed a one-year contract with Los Angeles prior to the 2024 season, but he has not participated in a game since the Rams' Week 4 encounter with the Chicago Bears due to the return of cornerback Darious Williams from injury.
Throughout his four games this season, White accumulated 12 tackles and defended two passes. The seasoned veteran, in his eighth year, previously experienced standout seasons with the Buffalo Bills, where he earned All-Pro honors in 2019 and was named a Pro Bowler in both 2019 and 2020. His All-Pro campaign in 2019 featured 58 tackles, one sack, two forced fumbles, and six interceptions, marking a league-high in interceptions that year. Unfortunately, injuries have slowed White's performance in recent seasons, with a torn ACL in 2021 and only six regular-season games played in 2022 before suffering a torn Achilles early in the 2023 season. With the Ravens, White aims to strengthen the team's defense in their pursuit of a Super Bowl championship, as Baltimore aims to improve a defensive unit that currently allows an NFL-worst 280.9 passing yards per game.
