Pittsburgh Steelers Await Aaron Rodgers Decision as Mason Rudolph Receives Praise

The Pittsburgh Steelers are currently awaiting a decision from Aaron Rodgers regarding his free agency. In the meantime, one wide receiver has expressed confidence in the team's existing quarterback options. Roman Wilson has spoken highly of Mason Rudolph, who has returned to the Steelers after a season spent with the Tennessee Titans.
Wilson described Rudolph as an elite quarterback who is fully committed to the team's goals. "He’s really locked in and bought in," Wilson noted, adding that, "Everyone likes him a lot. He’s a good dude." Rudolph, drafted by Pittsburgh in the third round of the 2018 draft, has had limited opportunities as the starting quarterback for the team. His recent stint with the Titans saw him gain some valuable playing time, appearing in eight games and throwing for 1,530 yards, along with nine touchdowns and nine interceptions, marking his most extensive action since the 2019 season.
In March, Rudolph re-signed with the Steelers on a two-year, $8 million contract. The current quarterback roster for Pittsburgh also includes sixth-round draft pick Will Howard and Skylar Thompson, a former seventh-round selection who has limited playing experience since entering the league in 2022. If the Steelers begin the upcoming season with this combination of quarterbacks, it is likely that Rudolph will take on the role of QB1. For now, the team patiently waits for Rodgers to announce his next career move, and should they remain without him by the end of the offseason, Rudolph will have at least some backing from Wilson.
