Patrick Mahomes Addresses Referee Decisions in Divisional Round Victory

In the wake of the Kansas City Chiefs' Divisional Round victory over the Houston Texans, quarterback Patrick Mahomes addressed the controversial penalty calls made in the game. Mahomes clarified on Wednesday that he does not feel the decisions by the referees indicate that he is receiving special treatment from the officials.
'I don't feel that way,' Mahomes stated in response to inquiries about whether he believes he received extra protection during the contest. He emphasized a focus on his performance, stating, 'I just try to play football at the end of the day.' According to Mahomes, the referees are committed to officiating the game fairly and correctly.
In the game, the Texans were penalized a total of eight times for 82 yards, while the Chiefs faced four penalties amounting to 29 yards. The Chiefs secured a 23-14 victory, earning a place in the AFC Championship Game for the seventh consecutive season.
