Patrick Mahomes Addresses Penalty Calls in Divisional Round Win

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has addressed the controversial penalty calls that occurred during the team's recent Divisional Round victory over the Houston Texans. Speaking to the media, Mahomes clarified that he does not feel that the officiating has shown him any special treatment. When asked whether he believes he received extra protection from referees, Mahomes responded, 'I don't feel that way.'
Mahomes emphasized his focus on the game, stating, 'I just try to play football at the end of the day.' He acknowledged the efforts of the referees, noting, 'The referees are doing their best to call the game as fair and as proper as they can.' The penalties in the game were a point of contention, with the Texans being flagged eight times for a total of 82 yards, while the Chiefs faced four penalties totaling 29 yards.
The outcome of the game, a 23-14 victory for the Chiefs, propelled Kansas City to its seventh consecutive AFC Championship Game. This victory highlights the ongoing competitive nature of the playoffs as teams vie for the coveted title.
