Joe Burrow Emphasizes Enjoyment Amid Bengals' Tough Season

Cincinnati Bengals Quarterback Joe Burrow Opens Up About Season Mindset
The Cincinnati Bengals are facing a challenging season with a current record of 4-9, but star quarterback Joe Burrow remains focused on the importance of having fun while playing the game. In a recent press conference, Burrow stated, "If I want to keep doing this, I have to have fun doing this." His perspective comes after enduring a series of injuries that have hindered his performance this season.
Burrow, who started the first two games of the season, suffered a toe injury in Week 2 that sidelined him until his return against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 13. Despite the team's struggles, Burrow boasts a 3-1 record when under center this year. However, the Bengals' playoff hopes are dimming, largely due to their 1-8 record in the nine games he missed.
Should Cincinnati be eliminated from playoff contention, it would signify the third consecutive year missed in the postseason. This is particularly disappointing for the franchise, considering their previous aspirations, having reached the Super Bowl in the 2021 season and the AFC Championship Game the following year.
Even with limited playing time this season, Burrow continues to show his prowess on the field, having completed 59.3 percent of his passes for 734 yards, with eight touchdowns and two interceptions. However, 2025 marks the third time Burrow has faced a significant injury in his NFL career, following a torn ACL in his rookie year and a season-ending wrist injury earlier this season.
As the Bengals look to finish the season strong with four games remaining, Burrow is determined to maintain a positive mindset, reflecting his approach to handling challenges both on and off the field.
