Giants Rookie Abdul Carter Responds to Viral Moment Against Jets

Abdul Carter Takes Viral Moment in Stride
New York Giants rookie edge rusher Abdul Carter is brushing off an embarrassing moment from Saturday's preseason matchup against the New York Jets that quickly went viral. After a not-so-flattering chip block from Jets tight end Stone Smartt sent him tumbling to the ground, Carter took to social media on Sunday to fire back at the Jets, playfully labeling the block as 'weak ass.'
Despite this hiccup, Carter showcased his skills during the Giants' convincing 31-12 victory over their in-state rivals, recording one tackle in his limited playing time. The No. 3 overall pick from the 2025 draft had already made a positive impression during joint training camp practices, earning accolades from Jets head coach Aaron Glenn.
While Carter may have found humor in his viral moment, the historical rivalry between the Giants and Jets adds an intriguing layer to his response. The Giants have not triumphed over the Jets in a regular-season game since 2011, facing defeat in their last three encounters. The next chance for redemption will not come until their scheduled matchup in the regular season in 2027.
