Giants Fans Call for Rookie Quarterback Jaxson Dart as Russell Wilson Struggles

Frustration Grows as Wilson's Performance Falters
New York Giants fans are demanding change under center as starting quarterback Russell Wilson faces mounting criticism. Following a disappointing first half against the Kansas City Chiefs, where Wilson threw his second interception, the crowd erupted in a "we want Dart" chant, urging head coach Brian Daboll to make the switch to rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart.
Wilson's Inconsistent Play Raises Concerns
Wilson's performance on Sunday presented a stark contrast to his previous outing. After throwing for an impressive 450 yards and three touchdowns in a narrow loss to the Dallas Cowboys, Wilson's dismal start against Kansas City saw him manage only 39 passing yards and two interceptions in the first half.
In his Giants' debut versus the Washington Commanders, Wilson threw for just 168 yards, further fueling frustrations among the fanbase. With the offense struggling, the call for a new quarterback is getting louder.
Rookie Quarterback Jaxson Dart Preparation and Potential
According to NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, the Giants had a "package of plays" prepared for Dart heading into Week 1, but he did not see significant action. However, Dart remains ready for any opportunity that comes his way. "I don't know if it's as much a package of plays. I'm just preparing for whatever chance that I get," Dart said. "There's not a specific game plan or anything like that. It's me just trying to be prepared, and be ready whenever my number is called."
Dart briefly saw action in the second half against the Chiefs, but as of now, he has yet to receive meaningful playing time. The decision on whether to heed the fans’ call for Dart now lies with head coach Brian Daboll.
