Drew Brees Critiques Eagles' Offense Despite Undefeated Start

Former NFL Star Drew Brees Shares Honest Opinions on Eagles Offense
In a bold statement on ESPN's First Take, legendary former NFL quarterback Drew Brees expressed his displeasure with the Philadelphia Eagles' offense, calling it "the most boring offense" he's ever seen. Despite acknowledging the team's successful start to the season, with a 3-0 record and sitting atop the NFC East standings, Brees did not hold back on his criticism.
Brees stated, "I respect Philly. They are winning games, they're finding a way to win games. I can't stand to watch that offense. It is." His comments come as the Eagles' offensive efficiency appears to have taken a downturn compared to previous seasons, struggling to create explosive plays. Through three weeks, the team's average of 4.4 yards per play is one of the lowest in the NFL.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts has completed an impressive 71.4 percent of his throws and hasn't thrown an interception this year. However, his average of 159.7 passing yards per game marks the lowest since becoming a full-time starter in 2021. Meanwhile, Saquon Barkley, last year's Offensive Player of the Year, is also finding it difficult, averaging just 3.3 yards per carry to start the 2025 campaign.
Despite these concerns about their offensive production, the Eagles have managed to put up an average of 25.7 points per game, largely due to their effectiveness in the red zone. Brees, a 13-time Pro Bowl passer and second on the NFL's all-time leaderboard for passing yards and touchdowns, emphasized that while Philadelphia's offense may not be flashy, they still have the potential to win a Super Bowl.
