Daniel Jones Shows Appreciation to Former Teammates
Former New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has recently demonstrated his appreciation for his old offensive linemen. According to a report from Jordan Raanan of ESPN, Jones sent limited edition bottles of Clase Azul tequila to all of his former Giants linemen, highlighting his thoughtful connection with them even after his departure from the team.
Jones, who was benched and subsequently released by the Giants last month, is currently on the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad. After a six-year tenure with the Giants, his time ended with a request for release following a challenging season. Prior to his exit, Jones had completed 2,070 passing yards, contributing eight touchdowns alongside seven interceptions, while leading the Giants to a 2-8 record. Since his departure, the Giants have struggled, recording an 0-4 record and positioning themselves to likely secure a top draft pick in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.
Although Jones is not currently playing for the Vikings, he has joined a team with championship aspirations, boasting a commendable record of 12-2. His situation also offers him the opportunity to work alongside Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell, known for his expertise in developing quarterbacks. As Jones prepares for the next phase of his career, his gesture toward his former teammates may serve as a testament to his character, potentially making him an appealing candidate for future employers in the league.
