Bill Belichick Steps Away from ManningCast as He Takes on UNC Football Head Coaching Role

Bill Belichick will be directing his focus toward his new responsibilities as the head coach of the University of North Carolina football team, stepping away from his appearances on 'ManningCast,' the alternate broadcast of ESPN's Monday Night Football. This decision was confirmed by Peyton Manning during an interview with 97.1 The Fan at the 2025 Memorial Tournament celebrity Pro-Am, where he noted Belichick's busy schedule with college football.
Peyton Manning stated, 'Obviously, seems busy right now coaching college football, so he won't be back this year,' referring to Belichick's absence from the show this season. Belichick had been a regular guest on the Manning brothers' alternate broadcast following his final season in the NFL with the New England Patriots, prior to his debut season with UNC that commenced this fall. Manning expressed the challenge of replacing Belichick’s contributions, remarking, 'He'll be hard to replace.'
Manning added, 'I thought his insight was great. But we'll try to probably go back to rotating guests, and having coaches and players—which, I always like their insight—but also the actors and musicians. The common criteria to be a guest is you've got to love football.' Since its inception in 2021, the Manning brothers have been offering an alternate perspective on Monday Night Football. As they prepare for the first game of the 2025 NFL season, the Minnesota Vikings will visit the Chicago Bears on September 8, just one week after Belichick leads UNC against TCU in his inaugural game.
