Von Millers Future with the NFL: A Potential Departure from Denver

Veteran linebacker Von Miller has expressed his intention to play in the upcoming NFL season, though it appears unlikely to be with the Denver Broncos. During a recent media session, Miller indicated his lack of communication with the Broncos, stating, "I haven't heard anything from the Broncos." He noted the challenges of returning to a team that has established depth at the edge rusher position.
Miller acknowledged the prowess of the current Broncos' edge rushers, mentioning Jonathon Cooper and Nik Bonitto as two of the league's elite. He remarked, "They are incredible rushers," and pointed out that multiple players contributed to the team's sack production last season, further complicating his potential role with the team. With Cooper finishing the previous season with 10.5 sacks and Bonitto leading the team with 13.5, the Broncos showcased a formidable pass rush, yielding six players with five or more sacks, culminating in a league-best total of 63 sacks.
Given the current landscape of Denver's roster and Miller's age at 36, he acknowledged that a return this season does not align with personal or team goals. However, he remained open to the possibility of joining the franchise in future seasons, stating, "So this year, probably not [signing with Denver], but the year after that, we'll see what happens." As training camp approaches, teams contending for a championship may find Miller's experience valuable as they seek to bolster their defensive depth.
