Paul George Stands Alone as Last Active Player from 2010 NBA Draft Class

Paul George Emerges as Sole Survivor from 2010 NBA Draft
With the recent retirement of John Wall, Paul George of the Philadelphia 76ers has become the last remaining active player from the 2010 NBA Draft class. Wall, who was the first overall pick by the Washington Wizards, announced his retirement on Tuesday, concluding a noteworthy career.
George was selected 10th overall by the Indiana Pacers and has since established himself as one of the most accomplished players from that draft class, joining Wall as well as DeMarcus Cousins and Gordon Hayward as the only players from that class to have earned an All-Star selection.
Last offseason, George signed a lucrative four-year contract worth $212 million with the 76ers. However, the 2024-25 season proved challenging for him as he appeared in just 41 games, struggling with adductor and knee injuries. This marked the first time since 2013-14 that he averaged below 20 points per game, finishing the season with an average of 16.2 points.
Despite these setbacks, George is not expected to be traded by the 76ers, with NBA insider Marc Stein dismissing any such rumors as “nonsense.” As he looks to rebound in the 2025-26 season, George will aim to regain his scoring touch and play a pivotal role in the 76ers’ playoff aspirations, working alongside star center Joel Embiid, rising point guard Tyrese Maxey, and the 2025 No. 3 pick, VJ Edgecombe.
