New Orleans Saints Unveils Alternate Gold Jerseys for 2025 Season

Two weeks after debuting their new alternate white helmets, the New Orleans Saints have recently introduced their alternate jerseys for the 2025 season. In a video shared on X, the Saints presented their gold alternates, set to be worn during select games throughout the regular season. The franchise originally incorporated a gold jersey into its uniform rotation in 2002, making this return particularly notable.
The updated gold jersey closely resembles the same shade of gold and black found in one of the team's alternate helmets. A notable supporter of the gold jersey's return is Saints legend Cameron Jordan, who has been encouraging the franchise to reintroduce this colorway since at least 2020. The Saints last donned the gold jersey in December 2002 during a game against the Minnesota Vikings, when they experienced a loss. As they bring back the gold jersey, the franchise hopes it will usher in improved fortunes in the 2025 season and beyond.
With the addition of the gold jerseys, the Saints could have up to eight different uniform combinations available for this season. Their primary jerseys include black uniforms for home games and white tops for road games, with options for gold and black or white and black pants. Last season, the Saints also utilized multiple color rush jerseys, including a gold on white combination paired with one of their two helmets. This upcoming season may see the team utilizing the gold jersey along with the new white helmets for certain matchups. The NFL's updated uniform policy, introduced in April, now allows teams to wear their throwback or alternate jerseys up to four times each season, providing the Saints a venue to showcase their refreshed look. Although the team has yet to announce the official debut date for the gold jersey, they are scheduled to open their regular season at home against the Arizona Cardinals on September 7.
